|Rescue Me ID: 17-04-10-00216Duke (male)|
Duke is such a sweet boy, he loves to love you, be with you and cuddle. He is house trained up to date on everything and neutered. He comes when hes called and is quiet in the house. We have said Not Good with other dogs altho after careful introduction he has made doggie friends, he appears to be nervous when meeting new dogs probably because he was found as a stray and was most likely attacked by other dogs altho he doesnt have any wounds to show. His calm and loving demeanor would be the perfect companion dog for someone who needs companionship. He truly is a darling boy.

|Rescue Me ID: 17-04-03-00340Champ (male)|
Posted 4/3/17, and pictures taken 4/1/17. Champ came from Smith County Animal Control on 3/22/17. Champ has joined my yard dogs, likes to play with the other dogs, is good around children and adults, leash trained, and is crated at night. He will go in his crate on his own now. He likes to dance also. He will get into a happy spin in one spot. Champ was picked up on 1/5/17 on CR 1289 weighing 58 pounds, estimated to be 3 years old, and was neutered on 3/27/17. I wasn't sure what breed to list him as, but the more I got to watch him, he reminded me of another dog I had that I listed as a Bone Mouth Shar Pei mix. The shape of his ears when up, and the slight wrinkles on the forehead resembles that breed. Anyone interested in adopting Champ, please e-mail me at TMSGriffith@aol.com. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-04-02-00141Cheeto (male)|
Sweet and gentle adult, approx 6 yrs. Rescued from streets. Docile and affectionate with people, love belly rubs. Would enjoy daily walks and a special someone or family to live indoors with. Unknown past but has been evaluated for aggression towards other dogs and shows no signs of aggression. Would thrive as an only dog, but would be good with another dog of similar energy level and proper introduction. A calm/quiet household would suit him well, as this big hunk of love would be in heaven just chilling by your side!! 85lbs. Fully vetted. Completed HW treatment 3/20/17. Contact me more information and for adoption application.

|Rescue Me ID: 17-03-31-00380Sperry (male)|
Hello everyone, my name is Sperry! That's like the shoe, except that sometimes my foster Momma also calls me Sperry Berry or Spare Bear or Spare Rib or Deck Shoe and, well, you get the picture. When I was really little, the nice rescue people saved me and my sister from the shelter. We had some itchy stuff on our skin and we were missing some fur, but now you'd never know it, because I am super handsome (I swear I'm not a stuck-up puppy.....my foster Momma told me to say that!). I'm part Shar-Pei, so my ears are little and my tongue has black spots, which makes me quite distinctive looking, if I do say so myself. I may also have some Cattle Dog in me, because sometimes I try to herd my foster Momma when she isn't moving fast enough for my taste. :) I am a very sweet, loving boy who will be very easy to train because I love treats and food, but most of all because I am very smart! I stick close to my human until I feel comfortable, and then I make myself right at home. I get along with all other dogs and even with those things that say 'meow.' I love playing and wrestling with my foster brother and sister! They keep telling me that I'll find a furever home soon, but I heard that humans don't look at black dogs that much. That can't be true, can it? Please give me a chance. I promise you won't be disappointed! Sperry is a Shar-pei / Lab maybe Cattle Dog mix that we estimate to be born around November 29, 2016. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Thank you! (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-03-30-00090sage (female)|
meet sage, she was found in Kingsville Texas, wondering the streets with a dog food can stuck to her head. my mom rescued her and she is super loyal and sweet loves to lay and cuddle in bed and play, she is very special, she must be adopted as your only pet, she does not get along with any dogs or cats, that is very hard to find, please help us get her adopted to a special person , who will love her.Sage needs to be an only pet. She's a people-dog and needs someone who can accept her the way she is. Not being a social butterfly with other pets is not uncommon with Pit Bulls, especially in mature dogs. At least, there's no surprise. Other dogs make her uncomfortable and she can react poorly in their presence. We don't know if this is due to something that happened to her before, or if it's just the way she is. No matter what, it's no big deal. As respect for her, we will only place her in a home as an only pet. She is very much what a wonderful Pit Bull should be when it comes to people. We see no reason to cause her stress by forcing her to live with other animals. Sage needs to be an only pet. She's amusing enough on her own anyway, and doesn't need other pets to have fun. She much prefers the company of people. We think sage would thrive as an only pet. She is very much a people-dog. We believe the best situation for her would be a home as the only 4-legged princess. |Rescue Me ID: 17-01-27-00553Tazo (female)|
Hi my name is Tazo! I was little when I came to K-9 Angels but I am growing up to be a very pretty girl. At almost 5 months I am sweet, smart and spunky. I like to play with my foster brother and cuddle with my foster mommy. I am doing good on my potty training as long as I get out on a schedule since I can not hold it for too long since I am so young. I sleep in the bed with my mommy and I am right next to her all night. If she gets up I will let you know if I want to go outside but then I come right back in and go back to bed. I seem to prefer woman to men. I am not sure if I just think my mommy needs to protected or maybe a man scared me when I was small. But I will warm up in no time once I know that everything is good. I love toys and sticks and running around the backyard. There is a home out there for me and I am looking forward to my new family coming to see me soon. Tazo is a female shar pei mix that we estimate to be born around November 29, 2016. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. |Rescue Me ID: 16-08-04-00367Meathead (male)|
Meathead is the mascot for Texas Best Choices. He lives in a kennel where all the action is- where people arrive to adopt and everyone wants to greet Meathead. He is a big boy, about 5 years old, with a deep bark, but he wouldn't hurt a flea.... unless it if about food. Meathead lives alone because we "free feed" and he is a bit food aggressive... In a home, you can feed 2 dogs separately and not have an issue. We love Meathead so he can live here as long as he needs to but we want more for him ! Meathead was tied to our gate with a rope several years ago...he looked like he could have been in a fight. There were wounds all over his head and body. He was quite sad looking. He also had some old scars, so he likely had a pretty rough life before TBC. We spoil him, and everyone loves him, but he truly deserves a home and a family of his own. He looks like a thoroughbred when he walks- or should I say prances! He loves to play ball and even though he is not beautiful, he has rugged good looks and the heart of a child. Meathead will be waiting for you, if you have a heart of gold :) (Less)

Shar-Pei Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Shar-Pei is an adorable medium sized, wrinkled dog. Shar-Peis are intelligent, dominant dogs. This breed needs early, consistent training from a master that exudes leadership. Shar-Peis can be socialized to get along with children and other pets. Shar-Peis are extremely easy to housebreak. A Shar-Pei needs to be protected from extreme heat and can live in an apartment with enough exercise.
