Rescue Me ID: 17-02-20-00450Brendan (male)

Shar-Pei Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Brendan, a 4 year old Boxer mix who weighs approximately 70 pounds. He is a very sweet and handsome fellow, and gets along well with other dogs. He's so in love with his family that the crate is the last place on earth he wants to be but we'll work on that. He is housebroken, neutered, and up to date with vaccinations, Brendan is fostered in York, PA. We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all breed dog rescue. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting please submit an application online at ... (Read More)www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $300 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs. Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $350 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. We are an all volunteer organization and we are always looking for more help. Rescue Me ID: 17-02-06-00001Diamond (female)

Shar-Pei Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Diamond is a super awesome approx. 7 yr old super mutt (looks like a bull terrier face, shar pei ears and a chunky terrier butt!) who recently found herself at a local shelter when her family was unable to care for her. Diamond is a really fun, spunky and sassy girl! She appears housebroken (but expect she will need a refresher as she gets settled into a new home, like most dogs) and will bark at you to remind you she needs to go out. Diamond has lived with kids in her former home and is friendly with every person who crosses her path since coming to us. She is good with most other dogs, but does love to be bossy with them sometimes so ... (Read More)would do best with a dog who is a bit more submissive and tolerant. Diamond is being treated for an ear infection and will be sent home with any remaining medication. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. (Less)

Shar-Pei Mix    Age: Puppy

Daffy is a 9 month old Bassett/Sharpei mix who weighs 42 pounds. After 6 months in a shelter, this sweetheart is happy to be in foster care while waiting for her forever family. She is a little shy but warms quickly and loves everyone she meets. Daffy does well with other dogs. She is house trained and crate trained. Daffy is spayed, current with vaccinations, and fostered in Hanover, PA. We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all breed dog rescue. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. Rescue Me ID: 16-10-24-00234Chance (male)

Shar-Pei Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Chance is a very loyal, protective, loving dog with those that he trusts. However, he is so protective of his family with strangers coming into the home, he needs to be muzzled when they enter until it is proven they are no threat. (After he is comfortable, he is your best friend) He did bite two people he did not know once as they entered the home. The only incidents with people have been with strangers entering the home. Recently Chance has attacked another dog in the home and even though they had lived together with no issues for 4 years, it is the veterinarian's recommendation that they be kept separated at all times, he be rehomed or ... (Read More)the family has to put him down. The owner has a terminal neurological disorder and is confined to a wheelchair. Keeping them separated at all times isn't possible. Chance has been nothing but loving and playful with children but with his aggressive history, I am not sure a home with small children would be best for him in a rehoming situation. I strongly believe Chance would thrive in a 1-2 person household with no other dogs, a fenced in yard or on a farm, and with people who would have the patience and time to work on his trust issues. Rescue Me ID: 16-08-15-00253CONG (male)

Shar-Pei Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

My name is Alyssa and I have a really good friend who is looking into options of surrendering his pet to a really good home. My sister has gone through you guys (Kim Butler) in the past and has always had great things to say! Here's his story: his dog, Cong a Chinese Shar Pei, is bind. He wasn't blind his whole life, but has been blind for quite some time now. My friend is moving and is in temporary housing right now and it is taking a really big toll on both Cong and his human family. He know their previous home so this was never an issue for him, it is just that it's a big change, a smaller living space, and his stress levels are making ... (Read More)him uncomfortable and needy to the family. My friend works long hours and has a long commute home so he is not there often to take care of Cong and look after him as much as he really needs right now. I wanted to know more information about ACDC and if this is a situation you would be happy to help with! There isn't anything medically wrong with Cong, in fact he regularly sees the vet and gets his shots and is up to date on everything. My friend just feels that Cong needs more attention than he is able to give him at this time! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-13-00276Molly (female)

Shar-Pei Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Molly is a very protective dog who is sweet as can be to our family, however, there has been a big shift in our family needs and she has become a little too dominant with visitors. We have tried numerous avenues for training and are just unable to spend any more ADDITIONAL time on rehabilitating her. With time and patience she will be a lovely dog for someone.
