|Rescue Me ID: 15-11-03-00601Mandy (female)|
MANDY is a lovable 3 year old tan staffie sweetheart who might be part Shar Pei. She loves to give hugs. She walks well on a leash and gets along with other dogs. This sweet girl weighs 53 pounds. She has been vetted, vaccinated and spayed. She tested negative for heartworm. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Mandy if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue to cover part of the cost of the veterinary care she has received. (Less)

This poor little girl, doesn't seem to have had that great of a lift until now. She is very thin and needs to gain weight. Her nails were horribly over grown. She loves to be with people, and play with them. She loves to be petted and scratched. She doesn't appear to know any commands. Very sweet girl. 28 lbs. If you have questions or would like to meet the dog featured on this page, please call (216) 664-3476 to speak to an adoption representative at CITY DOGS Cleveland. Or email firstname.lastname@example.org About Our Shelter... CITY DOGS Cleveland is a program of Cleveland Animal Care & Control (CACC), located at 2690 W. 7th St. Cleveland, OH 44113. Public hours are Monday through Saturday from 10am-3pm, and Sunday 12-2pm. The CITY DOGS mission is to increase adoptions from the City Kennel by changing the image of the pit bulls who make up the majority of the kennel population, by preparing all adoptable dogs in the kennel for lives in loving homes and by creating as many opportunities as possible for the public to meet and get to know our dogs for the terrific pets they are meant to be. Our Adoption Process... Here's a little about how things work: All of the CITY DOGS posted for adoption are available for direct adoption from the kennel, unless noted otherwise. A handful of dogs are only available for rescue pull, which can be for a variety of reasons. You can either stop in during our open hours to meet a dog, or set up a meet and greet with your dog, which allows us to get the dog out of his/her cage for some exercise before you arrive. To set up a meet and greet, please email us at email@example.com. About Our Dogs: All available dogs have gone through the ASPCA SAFER Assessment. This assessment is a snapshot of who the dog is at that given time. Our dogs are strays and we cannot make any guarantees with regard to behavior, temperament or health of any City Dog. We do not know what kind of home environment they were living in (i.e. with kids, other dogs or other cats), nor do we know if they are house trained. Everything we know about them is based on volunteer and staff observations. It is very hard to tell with certainty whether or not a dog will be good with kids, cats or another dog. If you have kids in the home or another dog, we do require that they be present for a meet and greet with the dog you are considering for adoption. Heath/Vaccinations: Dogs that are adopted directly from the kennel need to go to your personal vet within a week or so of leaving the kennel. They do have their DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella vaccinations, are dewormed once and have a microchip. In addition, unfortunately many of the dogs do get kennel cough. This is not something that is contagious to people at all, but dogs that do have it will need to be on an antibiotic. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-04-30-00652Dory (female)|
Princess Dory is a comical young girl, with gorgeous caramel eyes, and at only 7 months old, she has such a delightful personality, along with her snaggle tooth and under bite! How can you not love that face! Dory's mommy is Princess Amelia, who is a Retriever mix, and we are unsure who is her daddy, but, look at that face, does it matter?? Dory is smaller, only weighing 24 lbs, she loves to play, is good with other dogs, cats and children, is housebroken and loves to hang her head out of the window in the car. Dory has been spayed, is heartworm negative, current on her shots, including rabies and Bordetella. She has been wormed, micro-chipped and started on her flea and heartworm prevention as well. Dory's adoption donation is $150.00 All of our Royal's are spayed or neutered, brought current on all shots, including rabies and bordetella, heartworm tested, wormed, microchipped and receive a dental if needed. An application must be completed, submitted and approved prior to meeting any of our Royal Prince and Princesses. |Rescue Me ID: 14-11-11-00710Kerri (female)|
Kerri appears to be a beagle/shar-pei mix. She is around 3 years old, current on shots, spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative. She is a good girl, laid back and very lovable. She loves attention and is an absolute sweetheart. When first entering our prison program, Kerri did well and got along with most dogs. Now being there for almost a year, she is starting to become dominant towards the other dogs. Kerri is longing for a home to call her own, and to be honest, it is exactly what she needs at this point. Due to her newer behavior habits, we do believe she would do best in a home as an only dog. Kerri is currently in our prison basic training program, where she is learning house, crate, and leash training, as well as her basic commands. If interested in adopting Kerri, please contact us for an application. Our rescue does not go by a first come, first serve basis. We process the applications that come in, and choose the best home for each dog. However, we also do not hold dogs. They are ready to be adopted, and after we can then rescue another dog. Thank you for choosing a rescue dog. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-09-30-00469Nelson (male)|
What Nelson needs is a little bit of everything, love, obedience, and freedom!!! But what he needs most is that special person. We need to get them together. He has an abundance of energy but he is still a youngster and sadly growing up in the shelter which is just not good. He needs a home where he will have his own person to work with him every day. He is super smart but the shelter does not have the staff to do this daily. He is overly playful and wants to put his mouth on your arm and hands but not to bite you. They are recommending a home with no children. Also not sure about other dogs. He can be picky about people also. There has to be the perfect person for him somewhere!!! Nelson is very special to us here at the shelter. He's been here a very long time waiting for that special person to find him and accept him for who he is. If you have a fenced in yard and kiddie pool he will be extremely happy!!!! (Less)
