Animal ID: 389Chase (male)

Shar-Pei Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Chase is an approximately 3 year old Mastiff/Shar Pei (?) mix, who's just about the sweetest soul at the shelter. He has the most beautiful and soft brindle fur and many wrinkles and rolls all over! Our Chaser got his name because sadly, he spends much of his down time chasing his tail in his kennel. We hope that this habit is just out of boredom, because once outside, the tail chasing is minimal and he is easily redirected. Chase is a very calm, gentle and loving boy. He gives great big wet kisses and enjoys meeting new people. We think Chase would do fine with other dogs, too. Chase has been waiting in the shelter for a home of his very ... (Read More)own to come along. It's been 7 long weeks now, and no one has shown any interest. Please come meet Chase at Bridgeport Animal Control (Less)

Shar-Pei Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I currently live with my parents and they are no longer allowing Bean to live with us. I work six days a week and am a part time student and simply just don't have the time Bean deserves. He is a very playful dog with a great personality and loves going hiking and be outdoors. However he is skeptical with people he is unfamiliar with so when we take him to the vet or for walks he is muzzled. He has never bitten anyone or any animal. Just needs a home where someone is experienced with this breed and has the time for him. If you have any questions feel free to email me at or call me at 8609213589. Thank you for your ...     The Shar-Pei has a purple tongue. Shar-Peis are depicted on Chinese pottery dating back to 206 B.C. The wrinkled coat of a Shar-Pei made the dog difficult for its adversary to grab in dog fighting. Shar-Peis almost died out during the Communist Revolution. Shar-Peis have a severe, frowning expression but are actually very loving dogs.
