If you haven't heard about 'Black Dog Syndrome' please go to our website at www.pinkshelter.org under the 'Links' tab to read why the chances of Maggie finding a home are so slim. A great dog like Maggie will make the perfect family member -- all she needs is the perfect family! When she wandered up on someone's property in Arkansas it was clear she had been on her own for some time. She was hungry, thin and tired but her tail was wagging so gently, the homeowner took her in. A few months later and now Maggie has earned the nickname 'The Booty Shaker' because she wags her tail constantly!! She's up to a good weight, she's super healthy, and she has been repaying the family with so much love!! She adores the children in the home -- the 3 & 5 year old children can crawl around her on the floor, play near her while she's eating, and all Maggie does is smile -- it's like she was a born Nanny! She loves to sneak a lick on the baby when she crawls by, too! Maggie loves to chase balls in the back yard, and loves laying in a chair or on the kids' trampoline instead of on the ground with the others dogs (hey, if the crown fits!!). We think Maggie is about 1 1/2 years old, she weighs about 45 pounds, and the vet thinks she's a Lab/Shar Pei mix. If you believe black is beautiful, please visit www.pinkshelter.org (Less)

Shar-Pei Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. The Shar-Pei is an adorable medium sized, wrinkled dog. Shar-Peis are intelligent, dominant dogs. This breed needs early, consistent training from a master that exudes leadership. Shar-Peis can be socialized to get along with children and other pets. Shar-Peis are extremely easy to housebreak. A Shar-Pei needs to be protected from extreme heat and can live in an apartment with enough exercise.
